Chair declared the meeting open at 7.00pm
Present: Chair’ Lyndsey Preston-Miller, Cllrs Linda Snowdon, Gladys Hunter (vice chair), Pam Marriott, Julie Gingell, Gary Bolton.
Cumberland Councillor. Cllr Martin Harris
Clerk: Mike Milner. 3 members of the public.
485.00 Apologies for absence: None.
486.00 Declaration of interests: None.
487.00 To read and approve the minutes of the last meeting held on Tuesday 10th June 2025.
487.01 Resolved to approve the minutes as a true and accurate record by those who were present at that meeting.
488.00 Public Participation/open session.
488.01 2 members of the public present wished to complain about the state of the pathway and vegetation of the Salterwath Beck from Well Road through to the Salterwath Close road junction, plus the poor state of repair of Well Road, which they maintained had been scheduled for resurfacing, but not undertaken.
488.02 clerk reminded all that there had been a constant succession of requests to Highways about the vegetation in the past and also a raised manhole which was due to be dealt with. Parish council never involved with any Well Road pothole issues, but clerk thought a TTRO had been issued for a resurfacing date earlier in the year.
488.03 councillors agreed clerk would again report the beck and pathway issues, then Cllr M.H (CC) would contact his Highways mentor. Likewise with Well Road, residents to supply photos and clerk report and again then Cllr M.H to contact Highways.
488,04 third member of public, understood Cllr G.S would raise his concerns about local gulley so no further issues to be raised.
489.00 Police Matters.
489.01 clerk had circulated the police e newsletter. No other comments other than clerk had attempted to log on to a TEAMs police meeting at 6pm the previous evening and no meeting link connected.
490.00 Matters concerning Cumberland Councillor.
490.01 Cllr M.H went through his report, already circulated, as member of the public would not have seen it. He then reported that local elections looked like they would be put back to 2027 and that could involve a mayoral election as well. He was unable to fully explain the ward boundary changes but it would probably mean the parish would have 2 elected unitary councillor members.
491.00 Applications for development. None.
